it is slow everywhere - in Birmingham, the USPS is short handed due to Covid illnesses and the Holidays - some peoples deliveries are 3 weeks to a month delayed - we have 3 running about 2 weeks late.

The wife (no pics) ordered our Christmas cards near the end of Nov/beginning of Dec. Took a couple of days for the order to be made and then shipped. They've been sitting at the main hub over in Homewood since Dec 11th. Tracking shows something like handed off to USPS for final delivery. My informed delivery email shows it arrived there, with no estimate for delivery. I understand being overwhelmed with large packages, but this is a padded envelope that could easily go on the normal mail truck. I guess we're just going to look like Scrooge and not be festive with Christmas cards this year. She already asked for a replacement, but who knows if those will ever get here.

I’ve started paying extra to get things that I really need by a certain time, regardless of whether it’s mail rush season or not, because the USPS has become too unpredictable. And it seems that the closer the place is that I buy from, the longer it takes USPS to deliver. 3 weeks ago I ordered a pair of leans from Indianapolis, about 12 hours from me, they got to their local post office the next morning, they stayed at that post office for 8 day and then finished to trip in 4 more days.
FedEx can be bad too, ordered ammo from South Carolina a couple months ago, it went to the local FedEx there within 24 hours, it arrived 10 days later and was left 4 houses down from me in my neighborhood once it was delivered.

Exactly. Those Union workers at the USPS delivered a Presidency. You think that they are in the mood to deliver your package? Or do you think that they are taking advantage of some nice "no show" work?

I think the latter is more likely.

It doesn’t take USPS a Christmas rush to lose packages. They do it year round.

Shop FedEx or UPS if it needs to be there. USPS is for junk mail.
