How long does it take you to return calls?

Do you screen calls? Do you return text? How long does it take you to return text?
I cannot understand people that don't answer their phone or at least return calls as quick as possible.

Depends who is calling.

If I don’t deem it important, I might never return the call or text to be honest.

I guess they don't deem the issue or me important.

My immediate family knows my real number, so I answer if that one rings.
Or immediately call back, could be important or involve my money.

I’ll call mom or SO back if I miss it.
Work calls, I expect a voicemail with information as to why they’re calling, or followup email… something besides just a missed call from a random number I don’t know. Cold calls from clients — probably my biggest pet peeve. Email me your question/issue/request. If it’s too complex to email, give me a brief idea of what is needed and request to schedule a call I can put on my calendar and have information prepped for you.
I just find it rude when someone calls me while I’m in the middle of working on something and expects me to drop my tasks for them. It’s like skipping the line. (I’m in consulting so my whole job is resolving issues/working on things for clients as they come in)
Now.. when my retired mother who goes NOWHERE doesn’t answer the phone because she’s sitting on the porch without her phone, I get so aggravated

I get maybe two legitimate phone calls in a year while also getting 6 spam calls in a day. Why in the world should anyone pay attention to calls unless they've applied for a job?

I can’t understand people who call instead of text message.

No matter who’s calling, call back immediately. Great habit to create during your business career.

Not if you bill by the half hour.

Sorry about the loss of your Dad.

I leave voicemails without their phone ringing by calling the call center. Freaks people out still.
Screening calls is worse than not returning.

Anyone not family and under 40 better text vs call.
I assume all calls are about my extended car warranty,

Depends on who you are. I have some family that we text frequently and if they know I’m working they’ll only call if it’s an emergency or will leave a message with some detail about the call. Those people I’ll either answer when they call or will call back immediately.
And then there’s people like my Dad. Who will call, won’t leave a message, and then call right back a second time like it’s an emergency. Only to ask me what time Kentucky is playing on Tuesday. And when I do call want to sit on the phone for an hour to rant about unimportant bullshite (like how he had to sit on the phone for an hour with ATT). But then gets SUPER offended when I have to tell him I’m going into a meeting or with a client and can’t sit and talk for an hour.
Now him, he’ll get a call back when I’m in a good place to listen to his bullshite.
