I was on one from 2019-2020. We had to meet every other Wednesday for one year. This was federal grand jury. Generally it was scheduled from 9am-5pm. But other than a handful of times we were usually done by 2/3 pm. Some days were cancelled. I was still paid at work, but your job is not required to pay you for those days, only that they let you go to jury duty.

It should be required that every single legal, non-felon in this country serve on a Grand Jury in their city or county at least once. If you want to know what is really going on in your area, with your neighbors, serve on a Grand Jury.
I've served on one. It lasted five days, and one of those days required a tour of the jail because it is the GJ's responsibility to tour it and provide a report (pretty much a dog and pony show because the Sheriff and everyone concerned knew when the GJ was coming and had everything in order). We were then "on call" for a period of time and had to call in to see if we were needed. That only lasted one phone call, because we were told our GJ was over after we called in.
All that said, I was dreading the whole deal. Usually, GJs are selected at random from the pool of prospective jurors who showed up. My name got drawn, and I wasn't happy. However, it ended up being quite the experience. Sure, some of it was boring and tedious, but other times it was eye opening. You hear cases literally all day that range from someone stealing ear rings from Walmart, to an 80 year old woman stabbing her 52 year old boyfriend, to heinous shite like a guy holding his GF and her child hostage for days while torturing and raping them. Most of what you hear never makes the news, so unless you read police blotters, you never even know alot of it goes on.
If given the chance, you should serve on a Grand Jury. It will be an education, if nothing else.

Yeah it was super interesting when I did it. Federal is very different from parish grand jury. In federal you'll pretty much only see white collar type crime, weapons possession, and drug related. The violent stuff is usually the parish level. I dont think we had one case in the entire year that involved violence

During Covid have grand juries not been happening all of this time?
Yes they just haven't been rotating juror's as often and requiring longer juror terms. And as a BIG F.U. to me posting on this post yesterday, I recieved an EBR Sherriff hand delivered subpoena for Grand Jury Duty. WTF?!?!? I was just on it last year...
Chicken, are you behind this?

You clearly dont know how to answer the questions properly.
Even speeding ticket convictions need to get the death penalty.
