So your argument was that AR's looked a certain way... now it's not the gun at all but the capacity of the magazine?

quote:

a few rounds in the clip

So like an M1? AR's don't use clips.

quote:

Dude if you can't hit your game in 3 shots it is time to call it a day.

I already made a statement about AR's being a popular rifle for hog hunting. So if I run across 10 hogs tearing up the land I need to pick which 3 I want to shoot?

Or if I'm target shooting I need to reload after every 3 rounds?

I would imagine that you are not in favor of a private citizen deploying a grenade or a bazooka in self defense. You just need better analytical skills to see that AR are a similar type of excessive force.

The fact is that criminal elements don't do mass murder of innocents, they use their weapons to kill other criminals mostly, and cops.

That's bullshite. See Chicago every weekend.

Cops are often out gunned in drug arrests and bank robberies.

Also complete and utter bullshite.

You clearly have no clue what you're talking about.

Oh really AR's are "excessive force"? What would you call a Remington 742 or Browning BAR then?

The 2nd Amendment has absolutely nothing to with hunting.

The days of a militia are over. The citizenship used to have similar weapons as the government. Owning weapons back then were for hunting and if necessary they could amass a citizen army. Do you really think the US armed services are held in check by our NRA type citizens? The military is beyond the reach of the public. Also, our constitution is a living document and it has to be interpreted in light of today. The right to bear arms means something entirely different today. You have the right to a reasonably defense both in the court and on the street.

Gun control could reduce that probability.

I can answer this question.

This is a bit of an oversimplification, but broadly speaking this applies...

2 basic kinds of Killings/murders... in the heat of the moment and premeditated..

In the heat of the moment a gun is not going to stop them, they will use a knife, or a brick or their hands or.. I think you get the picture.

If its premeditated, they will get some form of a weapon anyway. Be it a gun, fertilizer, a plane.. whatever...

So in the end the only real effect of Gun Control is disarming law abiding citizens thereby making the very citizens our government is obliged to protect more likely to be victimized by criminals.

Glad I could clear that up for you.

By the way.. They have mass murders in other countries that have "gun control" all the time. But our President and the media have never let a few facts get in the way of promoting their narrative.

w if you can carry around a bag full of 15+ round magazines then it is excessive. The mechanism aren't the point, but the mags are. I would be okay with you having a bad arse looking rifle with no more than a few rounds in the clip. Dude if you can't hit your game in 3 shots it is time to call it a day.

I have 10 - 30 round mags and 3 - 40 round mags. You wanna know why??? I take it you have never been to the range and had to re load mags while shooting 300-500 rounds? Or been out hog hunting and having to do the same. I'll tell ya, it sucks. That's the reasoning behind the fact that I have 13 magazines with 30+ round capacity.

In an urban setting a long range assault rifle could do more damage than in necessary.

You're all over the place. An "assault weapon" isn't long range. Long range weapons with high powered ammunition are the very definition of sporting rifles. The fact they can also be used for sniping destroys your argument.

"Assault weapons" as anti-gun folks typically categorize them are typically medium range carbines, medium power ammo with a high rate of fire.

So - make up your mind - which weapons "scare" you the most? Easily concealable pocket pistols, inexpensive "Saturday Night Specials," "assault" rifles, high capacity semiautomatic pistols (most commonly used weapon in crime, BTW, but also most useful for most folks in a one-on-one self defense situation), or "long range sniper weapons."

Oh, that's right, you're only in favor of shotguns.

So this is fine:

We cool?

Do you have any idea what the American Revolution was? Do you know what started it?

You must be getting tired, because you are all...over...the...place.

Guns are not explosives. Explosives are not guns, not even assault rifles.

A semi-automatic rifle is similar to explosives? Got it. I can disregard your opinions on the subject now.

Hire some help you to get rid of your hog problem. Or come up with traps or other means. The problem is that I don't want to see humans slaughtered like hogs.

Well, lucky for you, I don't generally slaughter humans like hogs. So why are you treading on me? I will say, it's people like you that make me consider slaughtering people, like you, like hogs.

Clearly you have never been on a hog hunt, or had a boar tear up your land/cattle. When a several hundred pound boar comes after you, do you want a single shot bolt action rifle or an AR-15? Or what if a coyote has been snatching up neighborhood pets?

And yes I prefer an AR because... 1. Im a decent shot, but a moving target is not always an easy thing to hit. And 2. Im not fricking around with a boar or coyote. I want multiple rounds through that nuisance to make sure he isnt coming back again.

Someone like you could go over the edge and decide humans like hogs need eliminating.
