A 10.9 and a 23.6 don't jive. Someone must have forgotten to start the stopwatch for the 10.9.

You are correct. I'm a sprint track coach and these two times don't correlate. A 23.6 200 runner usually gets around 11.6-11.7 in the 100. We've got about 10 sprinters on our high
school boys' track team and only one is under 12.0 FAT. 99% of the OT would break 12.0. My bests were 11.3 and 22.8.

I can't call it, if it were to be first to buy a tea and tea sevice at a garage sale? Maybe, I could sprint because I'm pretty mobile.

Yep, I would be 12.xx because I was a distance runner. I just do not have that top-end speed.

.It's insane to think these olympic sprinters run that far(100m) in the mid to uppers 9s

Several of us could run in the mid 10s. We won state and set a Mississippi state record in the 100m relay in 1988. Some guy that same year ran a 9.9 that still holds to this day.

I'm not sure what is more amazing...

1. How many athletes post on here

2. How many folks feel the need to lie to strangers on a message board

I love the pattern of this thread and others like it. You have the OP, followed by three lame attempts at humor posts. Then the white lies and fudging starts. By page three, the one uppers enter. Then, you suddenly, literally have world class sprinters posting in here.

my senior year of H.S., our 4x100 broke the national HS record but it didn't count and I had nothing to do with it, wasn't even on the team. Other than that, I think I can get across the line sub 45 seconds, if I train for it.

Just seems like a hardcore, world class track superstar wouldn't make the simple mistake of calling it the 100m relay. Seems like 4 X 100 would roll off his tongue after dedicating his life to track.

I run it around 11 seconds. Have sprint my whole life. For reference, the fastest girls high school 100m is like 10.6 i think.

You'd be thinking wrong as only 3 women ever have run in the 10.6s or lower and at least two of those were juicers
