I moved from Silicon Valley to Tokyo. It was great fun.

I don't hate South LA but I'd prefer to live somewhere with nicer terrain and more seasonal weather. My wife is not interested while we have a kid in school.

My wife is from California, I'm from Wisconsin, and we live in New Orleans so that should answer your question. Having to travel home to see family in two different states is the biggest con.

My family is 6 hours away and its not bad.

MIL and FIL are here. I wouldn't want to leave our friends though, we are all around the same stage of life having kids etc and a pretty close group. Making friends when you are 30+ ins't that easy.

Quality of Living vs Quality of Life

This is correct. Most people opt for quality of living.

Home is very important to me. When you find home it unlocks a lot of the mysteries to a quality existence and inner peace.

don't let distance scare you. I moved 1,000 miles away from home and never looked back. Yes, some family members will give you schitt. But in my opinion the people that really madder will support you if you are moving to better yourself.

Pros: Better quality of life, meeting new people, experiencing new things, pushing yourself outside your comfort zone, being able to travel internationally much easier Cons: Missing home LSU games

This says it all.
