Is there a good reason why he doesn’t deserve a break?

My husband got the paperwor from the orthopedist -- he was in an immobilizer and couldn't walk much. Had ACL surgery and it was even less. All it required was the MD signature and whether or not the patient he had to actually be there in person to get the tag (theres a box that said his "representative" could get it but they didn't check that).
It's good for a year -- he had to get an id that he can be asked for at any time. Meaning if I'm in the car and park in a handicapped spot I can be asked for an id from a cop. No id = ticket I assume.
Have only used a handicapped spot a handful of times but it was very nice to have for his sake when I couldn't drop him off right at the front door of an establishment.

A handicap spot isn't a break for an able bodied person.

Fat people should be required to park in the last spot to burn off some of that fat.
I like it. Put Fat Parking in the rear on one side and the motorized scooters in the rear on the other side. Ensure batteries are all dead.

Not gonna lie: It’s too damn easy. I got one legitimately for a leg injury. I never use it though. It’s just cheap insurance in case I ever mistakenly park in a handicapped spot. I also loaned it to my FIL for a couple of weeks when he was dealing with a shattered ankle. But, yeah, just a form to fill out, a doctor’s certification, and a few dollars every 4 years or so.

I tried to get one when I broke my leg and the lady at the dmv held up a paper bag and said I failed the color test, whatever that means

We have a HC plate bc my daughter is in a wheelchair. We only park in HC spots if she is with us. Few other people seem to be this considerate.

Just pay up, kind of like renewing your drivers license

My father-in-law has a tag and legit needs it. I have one of his tags in my car for when he rides with us, but I don't like to use it even then. I prefer to drop him off at the door of a store/restaurant/doctor then go park in a regular spot; pick him up at the door afterward.
He can't understand why I won't use a handicap spot after I drop him at the door. He seems to view it like I'm turning down a free benefit, which to him is crazy.
