It cooks in the butter and most of the butter cooks away.

Do you think all the butter just volatilizes and just evaporated away and leaves nothing behind? It infuses into the meat making it tastes absolutely delicious.

Of course some does. But most of it ends up as juice. When the roast was done a bit ago I pulled the roast from the crock pot, discarded the juice it had cooked in and served the roast. And yes, it was delicious. We have plenty of leftovers my wife and kids can enjoy tomorrow. But as for me I won’t be eating beef of any kind for at least a week or two.

First when I heard of this recipe I was skeptical. But they convinced me it was delicious so I decided to give it a try. Turns out they were right.

Agreed, Wal Mart injects their red meat with a die to make it look a lot fresher than it is. If you cut it in half before cooking it you can see the center is gray and not a very good meat.

Downvote me all you want but all you gotta do is look this up to see it’s true

It's a pretty hefty fines to sell mislabeled meat.

While true and I am sure this is Prime beef there is still a quite large variation within each of the three beef grades that are sold fresh to the public. If you get lucky you can even find cuts from a Choice carcass that an inspector would grade as Prime individually and the same goes the opposite way.

I worked for Sam's Club back in college. It surprised me how many restaurants used their meats.

Restaurant Depot had some amazing meats as well. You had a walk in cooler so nothing was ever put in a small cooler out at room temperature.

Knew a guy who started a Kobe beef hamburger meat brand
I said that must be expensive stuff

He got Kobe beef scraps would grind them up and mix with real good regular beef
If it had something like ten percent (?) Kobe he could use they word Kobe beef in a sneaky way on the packaging
Idk what happen to that business?

There is a huge difference in price between American Kobe and Japanese Kobe.

Sams uses their meat as a loss leader. Read an article about it not too long ago when they made a drastic cut in price.

They feel it is something they can do to compete with Costco. Costco’s Kirkland brand is killing them. Sams strategy is to get people with their meat.

It is sad that a thread about steaks became some shite thread about health.

But most people don’t go both places. And they are choosing the prime meat.

They are also carrying luxury appliances like Thor and Viking.

Yes indeed. Sam’s meats are quite good.

They also have some very good prices on wine. Not a lot of variety but, they cover the bases.

Can’t beat their prices on tires.

Sams has very good fresh sushi as well.

Costco’s store brand anything is great. You don’t get that with Members Mark. It’s hit and miss.

The prime meat is the same product. Sams is just undercutting Costco big time because it’s something that most people buy regularly and can compare prices easily.

Costco’s membership benefits are better as well as their electronics.
