60% minority public school in New Orleans. Ranked #1 high school in Louisiana by U.S News in 2017. Their test scores are incredible. What’s the secret? Why can’t can’t other minority-majority high schools in Louisiana mimic their formula?
ETA:
41% white
33% black
16% Asian
7% Hispanic

Magnet school bro. When you pull all of the good kids out of schools, surprise, what's left is shite.

You have to test in correct? So you are dealing with the best of the best. Of course they will do well

NOLA.com had an article recently. Ben Franklin had I think 5 kids score perfect on the ACT

Their "minorities" are the kind that are only counted when it is convenient. i.e not white or black

It ain’t the type of NOLA minority you’re thinking of.

It's literally and conveniently counted in the student body overview.
Their "% of disadvantaged students who are proficient%" = 99.6%

Somebody next week will write an article saying there aren't enough minorities because it's only 33% black whole disregarding that it's 60 some odd percent non-white.

Well luckily you're offended before that even happens.
Way to go

I'm only offended by stupid people, unfortunately a lot of people meet that criteria. Especially in New Orleans.

They don't appear to attend Ben Franklin.
Keep up the good fight against potential, yet unwritten misplaced outrage

Parental involvement is off the charts, and always has been.

What's the demographics for Baton Rouge High?

You have to test in. Kids with parents willing to make the extra effort to apply are living in halfway decent households and are thus encouraged to succeed. That goes for all races.

You're the one that seems to be triggered. Did one of your family members just die because of the tax cuts or something? My sincerest condolences.
