If we focus too much on the goal, we forget to enjoy the journey. Focusing on the future instead of the present robs us of experience true lasting happiness. If we are waiting on something in the future to make us happy, we are going to be miserable waiting, and even when we attain whatever that future thing is… then what? Be motivated by being present for the moment you are in.

I don't know your age, but accept that you don't have it figured out. Hell, I'm 53 and still figuring shite out. Learn the hard truth that life isn't fairand it's hard.
Don't quit. Remember, no matter how hard it gets, the sun will still ride tomorrow.
Pray to whatever God you believe in. Every once in a while, things do go our way, and when they do... makes the it all worth it.

I completely agree. I’ve run into this wall many times. I know what I’m doing is not what I want, so I start focusing so myopically on certain goals that seem difficult to get to because they are so detailed. For example, I’m looking for a career change and go down so many avenues about what I may and may not like that I just feel stuck. In reality, what I really want is to be my own boss. I’m not positive. I realize I need to focus less on my exact landing spot and more on living life on my own terms.

OP, I recently read something that may be helpful. The thought is that if we feel unhappy, we are likely focusing on something outside of our control. All of this is centered in self limiting behavior that may be subconscious. Try to explore this, you may find there is a lot there to fix, but you will be relieved to get on the road to resolving.

Sorry if this is the wrong place to post. Still young, but nothing going right for me as of now. How to stay on track? I have to figure out what to do soon.

The best preparation for the ability to do what’s required of us in the future is to do what’s required of us in the present to the best of our ability.
That will help you get through the day to day.
For bigger picture, it depends on your responsibilities.
If I was a young unattached man today I would try to find a master craftsman of some sort with whom I could apprentice. Agree to work for nothing other than your necessities being provided. Learn a trade, work in the elements, become a free man.

Because in the first week of chemo last year I was parked in a chair next to a twelve year old going through a similar treatment. The kid was fighting and strong, still is - I made friends with him and his family because the hospital wouldn't let family back there to sit with him during the treatment.

Little dusty in here. Good job bro. Thank you.
