Same co-workers, who you thought were friends, not all, but most, would stab you in the back the first chance they got...

You always have to keep those friends at a certain distance.

Getting fired is usually a big clue. I'd know, I have 3 under my belt ha ha.

You don't have friends at work. They are co-workers and that's all.

This is so true but what I can't get over is the number of co-workers who will go out of their way to frick someone over. Why? It doesn't help them. It's not like they are getting the other guys salary or something.

It's just strange to me that people seem to crave drama or somehow hold some petty grudge enough to screw with another guys career. I just can't understand it.

Half the time, the guy doing the Blue Falcon BS ends up getting it just as bad as the guy he goes after. Even dumb managers can see keeping someone like that around is a long-term loss.

When you start to view work as labor with pay, not as a place that “makes you happy” is when you can truly be happy. Go to work, do what they pay you for, then clock out and leave it completely behind until you clock back in.

“Perhaps I overshare and it can come back to bite me”

It’s pretty easy to fall in to the mistake of oversharing with co-workers,esp if you’ve worked closely with them for a long time.
I’ve done it,many of my co-workers have done it.

More often than not it WILL come back to bite you in the arse.

Even have to be careful with friends out of the workplace, same for relatives.

If something is bothering you to he point you just have to get it off your chest safest option is your preacher or priest, maybe even a therapist.

Link that. I missed that thread, but it sounds awesome.

Oh.

Obviously every situation is different, but I think it's also important to examine whether it would cause someone "financial hardship that would outweigh" the increase in happiness or whether it's simply "making less money". Once you've got the golden handcuffs on, it's hard to get them off, but it's not impossible.
