I use a belt on my 4 y/o and just saying the word belt makes him stop so I rarely have to spank. One time I lost it after he hit his little bro, purposely knocked a glass off the table, and threw his plate at his mom all within seconds. I ran in there and yanked him up by his hair and hit him pretty hard on the butt 5-6 times. Felt bad about it but damn, he needs to calm the frick down, as do I.

Yea, probably so. Happened a couple months ago and I still feel horrible about it but we tried talking to him and when she told him to go to his room he stood up and slapped the 2 y/o, knocked stuff off table and threw little bros plate at wife. Wife and my youngest were looking around just shocked. He hasn't acted out but once since then and I just say do you want a whooping with belt and he calms down. Wish I would have done that then but like I said I lost it. Haven't spanked him since.

I got my arse beat numerous times by my dad, mom, uncle, aunts.
Meanwhile I had freinds who never got beat who ended up in jail, high school drop outs, or strung out on drugs.

The older you get, the less you think it makes that big of a difference. That's why grandparents don't do it as much.

I'm 15 years into this parenting thing and I've done it mildly twice, and I regret that to be honest. But then my kids listen to what I say and I'm not a violent person, so what do I know.

It's funny people are posting the study on facebook saying spanking is bad and my facebook ads show another study where spanked kids are more successful.

I don't believe in spanking older children, have no issue with it in select cases on younger. Talking about not painful/not abuse type of a swat, I am never for actually hurting a child. It's an attention getter and works well with kids who may be struggling with attention issues that don't need to be medicated to frick with shite like ritalin.
Most kids don't need it or should get it. Case by case basis really.

Pussification of America. I mean there is a line and I'm not talking beating children but I feel that a spanking works, at least it did with me. But it all depends on the child as well, you just need to know the best way to teach them the message your trying to convey.

I've got 3 kids, two boys and a girl. I have spanked my sons and still will if I think they need one but I have never been able to spank my little girl. She's 12 now and I've never spanked her. I guess a daughter is just different to me. It makes my boys mad that I wont spank her

I have two daughters and two twin boys. They are all out of the house now. I can count on one hand how many times I whipped my girls,but my boys had there asses fired up quite a bit. I'm for spankings. I wish I could give a good arse whipping to some of my nephews.
