Where is it in relation to your house?

technically short term rentals are legal in our neighborhood

So you're telling me that your neighbor did something perfectly legal and it hasn't caused any problems yet you're "royalty pissed" off about it? Then you mentioned that the house aren't very close together so it's not like they are even close. You seem like an a-hole here.

Apparently not

on the other hand I want to live in a neighborhood where I know my neighbors and there are generally permanent residents

Generally, they are. There's just this one exception.

My house/yard is also literally in their Airbnb photos

Oh my goodness that's horrible! Are you going to be ok?

Dude, put up a fence if that bothers you.

Apparently you’ve never lived right next door to one. I have. It sucks.

It's 1+ acre lots. How close are they really? Any problems you have, a fence will solve.

The homeowner should have some responsibility for the hell some of these people bring to neighborhoods. Some are just party houses and there isnt much the neighbors can do.

Most “small government types” are talking about the scope of the federal and sometimes state governments. Very few I hear are complaining about tyranny from a municipality of local government. Now that you understand, are you a govern me harder daddy-type?

They do

Build a fence or live in a hood with an HOA if you don’t want the possibility of having this happen. Pretty simple stuff

Fences dont contain loud mouth females "living their best life" or techno/hood rat music.

The same units in this town keep getting the same repeat complaints, and the out of town owners dont give a frick.

For all those saying it’s no big deal, this is how it feels being an owner of a house with an AirBnB next door. I’ll never live in a subdivision without a strong HOA again.

We banned them in our neighborhood 3 years ago. The AirBNB/VBRO owners, who live in CA, lost their shite but the permanent residents won. Minimum lease is now 12 months.

The biggest issues we see with AirBnBs is the one night stays

They are here to party

They have their place and I use them often.

But unfortunately, there’s some fatigue that has started to abuse them and ruin it for good people.

As with everything nice, there’s always an element that will come in and frick it up and then blame someone else for it.

At some point, every political party outside of true anarchy requires the government to enforce rules and tell people “no” in some capacity.

Yes I am generally for small government. Where I am a “no” on is the intrusion into residential single family neighborhoods.

They should be for long term living. Not commercial purposes. We have commercial districts for this exact purpose.
