AOL chat rooms, for sure. I ended up going to prom with a guy from AOL 1996. Well, his prom. Nobody had digital pics back then, so we went by descriptions. I'm lucky he really was who he said he was, since I was an idiot & invited him to meet me at my house the first time, and my parents weren't home.
