Same reason people go offshore without checking weather

The cave is a well known tourist attraction and safe in dry weather. The monsoon came unexpectedly. The guy may have made a mistake in judgment but it was one a lot of people could make. Not exactly depraved indifference.

Did the flood at least get beads in return?

Wife is Thai. She claims they should’ve never been there. Glad they rescued but was pissed they were there in first place.

Sad the one man die trying to rescue.

One article I read said the coach used it as a bonding thing for his team.

Man the Australian doctor who was pivotal in this mission was one of the last to come out of the cave after the boys were freed found out his own father passed away a few minutes after he got out.

Damn.

At least one article I saw today said that the coach went in after them after they were reported missing and was not original with them. Maybe we will get the real story, perhaps not.

I went caving in Belize, and there was diving down a little between caverns; but it was completely physical and exhausting. The guide I had made sure that everyone was responsible for the person behind them, which gradually shifted. When we finished everyone felt like it was a team thing as we were constantly helping each other the whole way.
