I’d assume that’s why Amazon made the purchase of the Volvo FH Electric trucks last year.

Amazon's long-term play is Rivian. They own a nice chunk of it.

Yeah trash quality overpriced cars you can't drive outside California, rockets that go nowhere and do nothing. What else is there? Paypal? Lol begging for government subsidies to save companies he scammed from other people. Tell me is there anything original he created. You losers think he is some kind of hero because he bought twitter and is sticking it to the liberals. Dude was left for decades while the subsidies were flowing in California, now he is right trying to get subsidies in Texas. Dude is a glorified beggar on par with Zelensky. Give me a break.

If you like to tow stuff don't buy an EV. If you are like me and average 69 miles driving per week and able to charge at home in urban area the EV is incredible. Don't know why all you necks make it so political.

Because it is being forced on us, and we don't like being forced to do anything.

If I'm about to eat a ham sammich, and somebody tells me I have to eat a ham sammich, I'm going to throw it on the ground, step on it and tell them to make me. Just how we are.

You're probably right, a lot of freight is lighter. All the freight I deal with is class 55 and we max out at 18 pallets with lots of empty space in the trailers. Our max payload is around 42,000 pounds and we use every pound.

These are always interesting threads now that Elon is a TD god but posters still have an irrational hard on against EVs.

This is dumb. Elon doesn’t think we are ready for all electric. Which is what your democrat overlords want.

Right!! That idiot thinks he can land a rocket booster on ship in the middle of the ocean. What an idiot!!

Oh wait.

If there is one man on earth that can make something happen, it's fricking Musk.

NASA developed reusable rockets in the 90s.

Ended the program because it wasn't financially feasible to refurbish a used rocket.

But there's videos of the successful tests out there.

Elon is a charlatan.

If I recall they were hauling potato chips. Very light.

A traditional semi is 80,000 pounds legal limit with about 1/2 and 1/2 as far as truck/trailer weight and cargo. So if the Tesla truck and trailer are really 40,000 pounds empty and can haul 40,000 of cargo 500 miles it’s not bad - not great but not bad.
