He made a career out of insulting people.

I don't think anyone got mad at him.

I don't recall him ever making fun of someone suffering from a disease. That's widely seen as not being funny.

Don Rickles was the only man who could poke fun at Sinatra and not have his legs broken after the show.

Don Rickles was a national treasure.

The South Park generation? I had the first three episodes on VHS and am in my 30’s. Not sure the triggeredTwitter crowd are what I would call the South Park generation
