Brightside View. Each word a misnomer.

My share was $65/mo. 2 bed 1.5 bath (the full was a jack and Jack) in a duplex. At least we were close to a pool we could trespass in, and the Circle-K was walkable even after 7and7 and OE.

I can't even imagine what that place looked like by my current standards, which aren't even particularly high.

One roommate had pythons that could escape anything and would end up in the bathtub. Another didn't bathe. His room smelled like toes and taint. The two bedrooms had homemade bunkbeds ("rustic lofts"). If the sheets from the top bunk were hanging down over his bunk, it made for a toxic chamber. I know this because we had gay sex. Wait no. I passed out there during pillow talk with my friend in the bunk above me.

Anyway, I'm also pretty sure we smoked inside. We had a leaning tower of pizza boxes in the back "yard." One time a cop came over and smoked a j with us though, while we torched the tower in effigy.

That made it all worth it.

My first apartment consisted of a mattress on the floor, a fouton, and a TV. At no point in time did I ever have any food in there, just alcohol

Lived in some apartments off on lake Calais off Essen.

Madd the mistake of going to view it at 8am, not bad.

The first night I moved in some one got robbed and beat up getting out of their car. My a/c went out in May and didn't get repaired until mid july whenI got my dad's attorney buddy to send a letter to the landlord say they were violating my lease.

Thought about re-signing (rent was only $400 for a 1 br. Then some guy that committed a x2 murder in Nola got caught squatting in the unit next door. Figured it was smarter to just move closer to campus.

Mine was the servants quarters in a old mansion in Tuscaloosa. The ceilings were so low I couldn't stand straight up and walk around.

My first apartment was pretty nice. It had a wet bar, a spacious deck next to trees, and a double-sided wood burning fireplace. Each building plex had an area with trees that separated them. The property was hilly with lots of natural shade.

Only thing that sucked was moving in and out, via the 2nd floor stairs. That was a first time, last time ordeal.

My first solo apartment was Oakbrook Apartments on nicholson. For you youngsters, steer clear. If you get a studio in the front, your apartment will be full of tree roaches.

All those Oaks that’s mentioned in the namesake...full of roaches that overhang the building.

Would see roaches in the bathroom all the time. Big huge flying frickers.

One time I woke up with one in my hair. Buyer beware.

Highland plantation here

I'd definitely trade the rent prices for what I'm paying in Manhattan

My 1st apartment was made for someone in a wheelchair. The kitchen sink and cabinets were about thigh level.

I'm 6'4".

On the other hand it had a huge shower.

It was really cheap but on the edge of a bad part of town.

My car was stolen twice there.
