Restaurants and boil n go’s are boiling crawfish for $7-8 lb . Why the fuk some of y’all fuktards are blaming the farmers for the price is mind boggling

Dude. Tell me where I can go to buy $2 a pound live crawfish and I will boil them myself. Y’all don’t sell them on the side of the road any more like back in the day.

You pump the prices to all these seafood houses and then we get to pay the live plus markup price.

You act like without a real connect, the farm to table is a viable option.

You’re not going to find $2lb crawfish from any farmer now or for the next couple weeks so either pay $3lb and boil them yourself or just wait. Crawfish is very seldom $2lb in early February so don’t act surprised this year that there still $3lb

The point was you don’t sell to the public. You grade out to the restaurants and then copackers. Then whatever is left you might sell sacks to some rinky dink local places or catering outfits.

How many people you know walking away with a farm priced sack. It’s nonsense all the way around.

The wholesalers buy everything they can from us 7 days a week. That’s why we don’t sell to the public the wholesaler is the safest way for us to get rid of every sack. I understand what your saying but if you search enough on Facebook you will find farmers selling straight from the farm that’s how you by pass the restaurants.

You can buy them for $2 lb after Good Friday from just about anybody. Farmers or seafood houses. And im not a farmer and i dont blame farmers for selling to restaurants or seafood houses. Those people want 50 sacks at a time the public wants to nickel and dime you to death over 30 lbs of crawfish. So who do you think the farmer will cater to? The restaurants and seafood houses thats who

Yep
I’m always amazed with these threads at how many are so ignorant about how crawfish pricing works.

Amazingly these threads always are made this time of the year and the same nonsense gets repeated.
