Going down soon. I hear it is not fun.....

70% tear with arthritis issues. PT did not work.

Already reached deductible this year, so will get scheduled soon. Bummer!

If dominant hand, start practicing wiping your arse with your off hand.

I've done both L and R. Left was partially rebuilt and RC repaired. Good for 10 years. Right was torn in cycling crash, repaired, iffy to do and did not take. Right shoulder is very bad. Gonna have replacement surgery in August.

My advice, get it repaired and do everything your orthopod tells you what to do. Do not rush back. It should get back to livable in 4-6 weeks.

- oh and what Shepard says.

I fell on a roof and had a full thickness tear. Wednesday was two weeks after surgery. Still have a good amount of pain but it seems to come in spells. Other times I am pain free. Get ready to sleep in a recliner for a bit, I still can’t lay straight down.

Wishing you the best of luck.

Good advise....non dominant left is injured.

I hear poor sleeping and pain lasts a while. But I have those issues now! Doc said I have no choice.

The recovery and physical therapy will be the key. Make sure you find a good PT. Don’t settle for just anyone.

In addition to what these guys have said do not skip the PT afterwards. Make sure your wife, or husband, is willing to bathe you and trim your toe nails should the need arise. Mine was 6 years ago and I am just now getting my fastball back. Up to 13 mph but it goes to 3rd base. Rolling the last 50 feet.

Had a greater than 90% tear in my dominant arm. Surgery was fine but my recovery sucked because I had something called frozen capsule that severely restricted my movement. Lawn recovery

Get one of those ice water recycling machines to help with swelling and pain.

As long as it’s not workman comp you will be fine in 1-2 months. Got injured on the job and after the surgery I would go to PT for 2 weeks, wait 4 weeks for approval for another 2 weeks and so on for 6 months. Finally workman comp gave me a settlement. Spent half the settlement on PT on myself and 6 weeks later I had full function of my shoulder

Second. I just had a huge ortho surgery, and that thing is great.

Wife had the ice machine as well as a TENS unit after her surgery. I don't know how either one of us would have survived without both of them!!

This. Mine did not take after 2 attempts. They could not give me enough morphine after surgery. Everything on the surface was numb for 36 hours but my shoulder and neck were miserable. Everyone else I’ve spoken to said that the nerve block was a lifesaver.

This can’t be stressed enough. If you don’t get it and you wake up in excruciating pain, it’s too late to get it. Your hand may flop around like it’s dead so don’t be alarmed
