Correct. Would commute into San Felipe, TX. I would love to live in the inner loop because i am single & late 20’s. But, I don’t want to do that large of a commute. I feel that the Energy area is a good compromise.

You are golden traveling from Energy Corridor to San Felipe, TX. No problems at all most of the day. 25-30 minutes depends on where you are starting on Energy Corridor.
It will never be as frustrating as passing through Baton Rouge I can tell you that.

Awesome. Any suggestions in the area? I’d be renting. Obviously the closer to I-10 would mean less commute time. Are there any major roads to I-10 from there that I should avoid? Dairy Ashford, Eldridge Parkway, memorial drive, etc? I’m looking on apartments.com.

It would depend on where you start on the Energy Corridor, you'll have some traffic there. But once you get on I10 you'll be going against traffic. You should be good. Any commute less than an hour in Houston is considered good.

I’ve never lived in the area but there are tons of options as far as apartments out there. I would try to live close to I-10 for the reasons you listed and do so closer to Beltway 8/City Centre or as far east as you feel comfortable if you can. It will add to your commute but you’ll also be closer to Uber/Drive into town on the weekends to do stuff.
That area flooded badly in Harvey so I would definitely check out any place in person before renting something if you can.

Thank you for the input. I have looked at living as far in as the Memorial Park. But it would lengthen the commute a bit. Because like you said, living closer would make an easier Uber into the city.

I would just play with Google Maps during rush hour from different spots and see. I would think if you go inside Beltway 8 it will add quite a bit to your commute but I may be wrong.
Living near Memorial City Mall near the Villages/Spring Branch might be doable without adding a bunch to your commute and that puts you closer to stuff on the weekends.
