Inalso believe the original call was because he threatened a man with his gun. Wasnt he also a felon so he shouldnt have had a gun? Likely he didnt have a ccp either so he was carrying illegally On top of being a felon with a gun

yep, the original call was a man matching his description threatening someone with a gun. Cops arrive and he resists. He is a felon so no CCP for sure. Alton broke all kinds of laws and the cops did everything they could to not kill him.
