I think it's totally dependent on where you are flying into/from.

This is probably common for you guys who fly a lot, but I was flying back from MSY and security got so bogged down, they brought in a pooch to sniff the line. Everyone got to blow through security without taking stuff off or using bins and it immediately solved the logjam.

Can’t do much about heightened security, you can thank the “religion of peace” for that.

You probably aren’t getting scrambled eggs and biscuits on a plane anymore, but you can still get a comfortable experience if you’re willing to pay out the arse for it. It all boils down to money. The airlines/airports are cheap don’t want to pay a little more money to hire better, more friendly employees, or provide amenities to Coach passengers.

Also very dependent on WHEN you are flying.

I find MSY security super lax compared to other places.

DFW is borderline nazi.

I saw that once in MEM.

I have Pre-Check now. Totally worth it if you fly more than a few times a year. You essentially pay $70 or $80 to cover the costs of a background check.

Yep!

Can almost guarantee you any 6-7am redline will be 80% suits/business casual.

I'm based out of ATL. Literally everywhere else feels super laid back and easy.

I see 3 people in this picture who would like to get to know that stewardess better.

Honest question, what should be the baseline minimum flying attire IYO?

Unless someone has a gut or arse crack hanging out, I simply don't see why it matters what someone is wearing as long as it doesn't encroach on my senses.

Flying is often an all day ordeal; you get up early, leave your house, make your way to the airport, go through all the hassles leading to your gate, board the plane, fly a few hours in a small seat with a bunch of strangers all over you, exit the new airport, find transportation to wherever you're going.....with all that said, I would think the main thing for most people would be comfort.

I fly in either a polo or dress shirt, jeans or slacks, and Oxfords (by choice).

You can still dress casually and comfortably....and not look like a complete slob that just rolled out of bed.

Yeah who cares.

When I’m flying internationally now I’m wearing sweatpants and a T-shirt. I’m trying I sleep in it so I’m not wearing a damn suit for 9 hours.

Presentable and clean is all id say. I don't mind if people want to be comfortable, but I remember as a kid being nicely dressed on flights.

It should be common sense to dress appropriate, but i do see tons of skanky, trashy, or nasty/dirty clothing on flights.

I would rather sit next to a normal sized, hygienic person in sweat pants and a t shirt than a hulking obeast in a suit who smells like death. But that's just me.

So again, what is yalls baseline? Are basketball shorts and a tshirt too slobby? What about that same tshirt but khaki shorts? What about basketball shorts a tshirt and loafers?

I just don't see any reason whatsoever why what someone else flies in is a big deal at all...again assuming they are not affecting me somehow. Like a fat guy in a tanktop with his pits by my face yeah that's over the line. But if someone dresses "slobbily", who gives a shite? Why does it matter?

And why do you or anyone else give a flying frick?

Seriously, like the other poster said, if there isnt an arse crack or titty hanging out, why do you care at all if someone on a plane is wearing a t shirt and sweatpants?

The shite yall care about
