At least for those who haven't worked or whose jobs will be eliminated.

Gotta be some stuff that needs doing that can get done with whatever levels of restrictions are in place by the time it is set up.

Give people some motivation to work and maybe even teach some marketable skills.

The issue is.
While we all have friends laid off who'd love to work.
Many just don't want to.

The idea is to isolate people not crowd them together. Unfortunately many live paycheck to paycheck. It is what it is.

If they are going to be giving my tax money out to everyone that is already getting government assistance, it needs to be strictly regulated on what it can be spent on (food, gas, rent). Not going down to the liqour store to be a fifth and a pack of cigarettes or getting the whole family a new pair of shoes.

I said this yesterday.

The US has an enormous backlog of infrastructure projects.

Let's put people to work and get stuff fixed, much like we are doing around our houses, while this is going on. Take appropriate precautions but put people to work if they want some government cheese.

If you are going to put people in proximity of each other to work, why not just let them go back to their regular jobs?

That would take too long to get organized

ETA: The US is facing a liquidity crisis within the next few weeks.

large companies need structured bailouts, small businesses need 0% interest SBA loans, workers need automatic unemployment checks until this is all over with plus 1 yr longer so everyone has time to find new jobs

and fema can cover rent and mortgage payment offsets as needed as well as the proposed one time $1200 payouts to everyone earning below $75k income

This is pretty much the issue with the bill when it comes to corporate America getting money.
