I love that area. shame how they fricked up the drainage and the crazy flooding you have to deal with now
ETA
We have focused on commute, safety, schools, etc when we really should be talking about flooding first

dayton to westchase every day he could probably run a hotshot service on his commute

Those commutes would be brutal to Westchase. Live in Briarforest inside the Beltway or just outside. Not too far out it can get sketchy. SBISD school district I believe

Katy to Westchase isn’t quite the nightmare you’re making it out to be. It’s heavy traffic indeed, but it’s still doable at 8:00 am. 30 minute average.

Just avoid the woodlands and you’ll be fine lol

Katy wasn’t mentioned in his post. Coming from Katy/cinco might be fine because you never cross the city. No way I would drive from the Northeast every day to get to Westchase.

You’re right, I thought someone said Katy/Westchase was bad. Disregard.

And those proposing Magnolia/Tomball are crazy. I live in The Champions and it takes me 25 minutes to get to BW8 and Kempwood most days. On Fridays and non-school days slightly less. The afternoons can be 30 or more getting home.
30-45 on the way home if there is any disruption, and they are numerous. The Beltway turns into a parking lot way too often.

the commute evaluation shouid always start with time going home, not time going in
I commuted on the WPT from cinco SW to west chase for four years. going in was 30 mins if I left before 6:45 AM, but that was five years ago. before cross creek and fulshear exploded
coming home was 45 mins if I left by 4, after 4 it could be 60-75 mins easy. just getting on the WPT at BW8 can be a nightmare now
that was a 17 mile commute straight shot on the Westpark, as easy as it gets from the burbs

Katy/Cane Island/Young Ranch/Jordan Ranch area is what I'd recommend.

Absolutely
briar meadow would be a good commute if you can swing the price.

We are in Cinco Northlake Village while my girls are in school, but bought some acreage West of Tomball last year and plan to live up there once my second daughter graduates next year.
They are building a bunch of new neighborhoods in the area with the houses stacked on each other, but you can still find plenty of houses with some land as well.
