I’ve been on since about 4:30 so I know my time is about to come here soon. Just glad I’m getting extended spells at this point, I know people who are going 12-16 hours at a time or went 60 without it.

it is morbidly funny watching the FB and Nextdoor neighborhood pages come to the realization these blackouts are controlled

Downtown was lit up on the news.

It was completely dark from Fuqua to Nasa road.

This was last night. Curious about tonight. While we’re all getting hit with rolling blackouts.

Controlled but completely arbitrary and random. It's like a fricking psyop making people wonder when it goes off, when it comes on.

Logged into my smartmeter account. I'm in 77007.

So this shows when I lost power Monday morning at 740am, then got it back at 330pm then lost again at 730pm and been dark ever since without any power.

Mine just came on again. We'll see how long this lasts.

We went all day Monday and Tuesday without.

This doesn't explain it all, but I know a lot of those office towers have generator power.

Nah, that wasn’t generators. Downtown had power yesterday. My building is 70 floors and was heated yesterday...no backup generator can handle that load. Some people took their families to the office to get warm since the residential customers were getting the shaft. It was a bad look for the city.

Those back up gens typically only power critical infrastructure. Like server rooms, etc. I used to work in one of those buildings and we would send everyone home when power went out and the lights and HVAC stopped. Walked right past the 18 wheeler sized gens running balls to the wall. It got hot in that glass box real quick.

Sorry broski. :(. If the power holds out I’m making gumbo with all the Don’s sausage I got on hand and you can come get a bowl to warm you up. Hit me at SN @ Gmail to see if tomorrow is on or not.

One nice thing that has happened during all this is that it seems no one gives two shits about masks. I've walked into multiple places and no one is wearing them.
