This is incredibly dangerous and a flood emergency has already been declared for some parts of Harris county. Some bayous are overflowing their banks and this line of storms will continue over the area well into the morning.
Downtown just got hammered and those poor folks who went to the Rockets game might be trapped for a while.
In Fort bend county we have had bad rain and lightening for about an hour straight with no sign of let up.
Check in here with any regional updates

The situation is out of control. I feel sorry for all those people in Texas.

Hold it down. My poor puppy is at the boarding place. Hope he's okay.

Everything is fine in cypress. Light rain now but still lots of lightning and thunder.
More worried about a rental property in San Marcos. From what I can't tell it just flooded west of the river.

How often does Houston seriously flood? Like every couple years?
Maybe less often than that for srs and more often for less srs flooding?
My parents would complain about it a lot growing up so idk

I went to the game and sprinted to my car right after final buzzer instead of listening to the announcement inside Toyota Center that recommended folks wait it out.
Luckily only one of the streets I turned on at 288 + Holcombe was suspect at the time (which was around half hour ago at 11:10PM). Can only imagine those who waited around 15 minutes got even more flooded street shenanigans.

I'm not far from you. I fear we could get water in the house if this shite don't let up. It's just hammering down and non stop lightening. Thankfully the wind doesn't appear too bad.

White Oak Bayou is over its banks and the Heights(and part of I10 from what I've heard) is under 1-3 feet of water. Luckily my street is draining fairly well right now...we'll see how it holds up.

Bridgeland doesn't flood - too elevated but all this thunder is keeping me up. Noisy as can be pretty constant too.

I don't like the sound of this one bit.

2.5 inches so far in the med center. I think the worst of it was north of here.
