Long live the TKO burger.. wasnt on the menu last time i went, but they made it for me on request.
TKO burger at Becks was the second best burger in Houston.. the best burger in Houston is the Peppercorn Ranch burger at Pappas Burgers… it was expensive years ago, pre-inflation, i cant even imagine what they charge for it now .

So wait, now you’re touting the Houston growth rate? Earlier you were encouraging people to go to Dallas or Austin to keep COL down? Take a position man
And those cities have higher growth rates than Houston so try again.

I guess I’m confused. You’re hoping people don’t move to Houston so the col stays down, but then brag about people moving there. But then point to higher numbers for Dallas and Austin as if it’s a negative. Am I missing something?

I think we neeed to reestablish the expectations for this thread.. the OP was asking about ‘must’ see or do things.. no one is shitting on Houston, simply saying that it is a good place to live , but there is absolutely nothing ‘unique’ or ‘must’ see or do about the place.. A few parks , and some good restaurants, bars, titty joints and rub & tugs arent ‘musts’.. ill even add one positive i didnt mention earlier- Houston has what might be the nicest skyline in the country outside of NYC.. but you can literally take that in in about 30 seconds, and youre done , so that doesnt go very far .

You picked a terrible argument and you should think of something else.

Gotcha but the only cities that have a legit claim on this are western cities. Most cities east of Denver is a one shot pony at best. WTF is there to do in Dallas, Atlanta, Charlotte, Philadelphia, Chicago, Nashville, Florida besides go to the beach lol. Are you going to visit the liberty bell everyday or something? I’m not calling any of these cities bad whatsoever but come one, they aren’t these magical places with so much stuff to do aside from eating out and bars.

It’s not an argument at all. I’m genuinely confused by your position.
For the record, there’s no argument that can be made to change my mind on how terrible houston is. But I still enjoy the debate.

I climbed 110 floors today according to my watch. I could wreck some FogoDeChao right now.

So Houston is bad because you can’t visit the liberty bell everyday? Does that make eastern island a great place to live because of the statues lol?

That dude shovels snow eight months a year, pay him no mind

Chicago, Nashville, Florida
Seriously ? I mean.. i have only been to Chicago a couple times, so i cant really speak to living there , but everyone i know who moved there loves it and talks about how there’s so much going on all the time .
Nashville- there is so much outdoors stuff to do, beautiful state parks 15 min from downtown, Great Smoky Mts national park like 3 hrs away, tons of entertainment and the outdoor stuff is far more enjoyable than anyplace in TX since there isnt stifling heat and humidity 8 months a year.
Florida- first of all, it’s a state, not a city.. but you mentioned beaches as an aside- bro, ive lived there- beaches are an entire LIFESTYLE… whether youre into drinking at the coastal bars, or waterskiing, or just hanging out and swimming - the beaches are what elevates Florida above places like TX , LA and others becuase you can actually cool off at the beaches and, having lived there myself- most people have swimming pools too .

I’m from Nashville, the Smokey mountains aren’t a regular weekend trip. If we want to talk about driving 7 hours then houston now has beaches, Austin, Dallas, hill country, an international airport and it’s hot as balls in Nashville during the summer too.
With Florida, if you don’t visit the beach everyday, then what makes it so special lol? I also find it funny that you hate on Texas heat but then type a whole paragraph about Florida lol.

The Menil Collection is worth a visit, especially when the weather is nice like this afternoon. 93 Til down the street is pretty cool too.

The “summer” in Nashville lasts about 6 weeks.. at least, in the few years ive been here, that’s about as long as it lasts.. Now, i will say that winter lasts about 18 months a year here, which can suck.

Im not sure very many people in FL visit the beach every day.. but im quite certain many people visit the beach every weekend, or most weekends.. if you cant see how that is ‘different’’ or ‘unique’ about Florida, then im not sure what to tell you .

Glad i could amuse you… having lived in TX and FL previously , i can tell you that the omnipresent beaches and pools help out A LOT with the heat in Florida.. if that hasn’t been your experience, then that’s fine… tbh i cant even believe you mentioned beaches when listing things about TX- there isn’t anything in TX that is even a fraction as nice as most beaches in Florida .
But this is all SO far off topic since the topic of the thread had ZERO to do with what makes a place livable , and everything to do with ‘must’ sees while visiting .

Last time I checked, Houston was one of the few cities with a growth rate over 1% on this list, so y’all haters from these barely sustaining cities and suck one.
You think that Growth is a good thing?
