Well the problem is the demographics of HISD

also the problem with the fictional character in this scenario being named Jerry. Juan is much more likely.

The parade route is short, is smack-dab downtown, and is during lunchtime

Not sure if this is awesome or pathetic

It's awesome We haven't had a legit championship since '95 and coming off Harvey, the city needs a break from the grind to celebrate.

Wish it would've been the weekend however.

I was going to take my 3 year old, but I think it's just going to be too much. Downtown will be a parking lot.

Schools in KC were closed for our World Series parade a couple years back. I'm betting this is fairly common.

950 of the district's teachers and bus drivers had submitted time off requests.

I understand it’s the World Series and all, but why were all 950 of these requests approved?

That city/state deserves every second of celebration it can get over this win. They have been thru and are still going thru a LOT.

Honestly, it should be a state holiday for those wanting to attend

So deny them? In what world is leave automatically granted?

Then you would have 950 people calling in sick with no substitutes available.
