It’s bad around there. If you can, get on 610 and come in south to the Heights. Stay away from I10. Shutdown until prob tomorrow.

It was actually open and it appears everyone thought it wouldn’t be. I flew home, almost no traffic around 545. Got lucky!

Supposed to be flying in to Houston tomorrow morning, what can I expect? Will we have any issues getting to the Space Center or up to College Station tomorrow afternoon?

Just got in from dinner in the galleria district. Waters have gone down, but there’s still cars abondoned in the road throughout the streets.

Timbergrove was fine. Streets backed up due to knocked over trash bins clogging drains. Big shout out to neighbors for picking up all trash cans and moving them back. Reports of flooding near Sinclair elementary. Stalled vehicle on 11th 12th seamist TC Jeater.

One of our own SwiftyWeasel has his 9month pregnant wife flood/stall her vehicle near Ella/TC Jester.

It took me 1 hour to get home from downtown to Timbergrove-Grey, to Waugh to Dallas to Shepherd to 11th to TC Jester

Long story, chicken do you want to hunt tomorrow in Wharton?

I had both the 630p and 930p flights from HOU to MSY today and both were cancelled. Rebooked the 605am tomorrow and hope it actually flies.

I waited out the storm at energy corridor office. Live near downtown. Took beltway to westpark to 59 to 45 to get home around 7pm. Not a car on the road on 45 North. Was surreal.

Crazy thing about today. Left Houston at 6:50 this am to head to bay city . Didn’t rain on me until 2:30 and then not bad. Drove from Freeport to my house in spring branch in 1hr and 30 minutes at that time

I have been unsuccessfully searching the net trying to find updated information on road closures in Texas or Louisiana due to the flooding from Imelda. Does anyone know if I10 is open all the way to Houston from BR?

Waze, Google Maps and DriveTexas (TX 511) all showing I-10 still closed as of 4:19am. My guess is that authorities will want to wait until at least first light before opening anything -- if only so they can fully check road conditions

Local news in Houston just reported that 10 is still closed due to flooding between Beaumont and Winnie.

Edited to add:

I-10 now also closed at San Jacinto river bridge due to barge hitting bridge.
For those that are unfamiliar, this is the small bridge west of the Bucees in Baytown.

The San jacinto bridge is closed again?
It was closed earlier this year after a barge took a massive chunk of the bridge out.

Traffic always sucks at that pinch point.

Yes. A couple of barges currently stuck under bridge. The barges may contain hazardous material. Barges broke loose from a shipyard nearby due to high water.

So this makes three times in less than a year. Two from barges and one from truck going over the side.

Hwy 12 going into Texas is also still closed at the state line.
