No rain here outside of Newport Beach, CA.
So you're in the Santa Ana area?

Dude lives the life, son. He has a built in flotation device.

They're evacuating to Whataburger.

I have a flight out of IAH tomorrow afternoon. What are my chances the roads will be open to get to the airport?
Hearing it opens at 130

the amount of stupidity amazes me
the number of cars that stalled out on post oak, westheimer is amazing
folks just didn't wanna wait it out

have a pipeline project in Mont Belvieu in theTarga plant which is somewhat close to I-10. My Supt just rode out there and texted me and said the site is flooded and we should not go back to work till Monday, but that is to be expected after 20+ inches of rain. However the interstate was open if that’s what you wanted to know
that’s the area i was mostly wondering about.
along 146 from I-10 up to like 1942
was working there for Harvey in ‘17 (rode that one out in Apartment behind Buc-ees) and still know bunch of people in the area.

When I left work San Felipe was closed off between Sage and 610 because of stalled cars. The water had already gone down. Uptown is littered with abandoned cars. A lot of Mercs and Beamers.

It blows my mind how many stalled out cars I saw today.
To give the drivers some credit this was an absolute shitshow by all the areas leaders. HISD and schools being open put a lot of people on the road that should have been home. Losing Ed emment was a problem.
I was watching the news this morning before work and no one was warning Houston proper. fricking insanity

Because the NWS missed bigly on this.
It had the heavy band east of houston but even that heavy band maxed out at 15-20”
Houston proper was supposed to get 5” or so

Unfortunately, can't do Air Traffic from home. The good thing is I only have 10 more months to do it.

Never a bad idea to check out the WPC from the NOAA when something like this is happening near you.
At 4:10 this morning they posted this:

Along with a write up.

Anyone know if yale at washington going under the RR crossing is flooded? I'm trying to make it back to the heights and heights blvd looks like a clusterfrick.

Wasn’t one of our regular weather board shite stirrers posting in the last week that people should ignore all the other models and forecast and only focus on the NWS? LOL
