No....I'm saying I live in Boston. And Boston is the 3rd most expensive city to live in from a real estate point.

New Orleans real estate is a fricking joke compared to where I live. And I am jealous of people from New Orleans bitching about their cost of living.

In Seattle it's India/Asia, they're being shipped in everyday. Americans are getting pushed out.

Yea...I believe that.

It is way more expensive than what I remember. Houses in The Irish Channel....2-1 places are going for 400k which is stupid. In my mind, Boston has always been expensive. Plus it's fricking too cold there.

Yes the winters are cold. Especially this winter. But it's May 31st and I haven't turned on my AC because it's 70 degrees in the house with the windows open. And tomorrow I'm going to the Cape to go whale watching, do a brewery tour, and eat lobster taken out the ocean hours earlier. So you take the good with the bad.

Haven't used my ac in dallas yet either. ...but we have just had the rainiest may on record...

Yea...Boston is a great town....that's why I would expect real estate to be steep there....it's the 2nd tier towns like dallas where it's kind of surprising to see prices so high. There is really nothing here
...other than jobs....to make people want to live here......it is actually not a bad place to live....just not sexy.

They need tighter restrictions on section 8 housing. As long as this goes on the entire area will be a dump. Why would someone want to sell a place (a dump) that the government is giving a guarantee $1500 a month for?

This is true. there is only incentive to do the bare minimum to pass inspection.

I feel like you're downplaying Dallas, imho. It's on my shortlist of places to move to.

I bet if the value skyrocked most would consider selling for a nice profit.

I think the same thing here. Where are all these 600k homeowners coming from? At least in Boston, San Fran, etc, you have decent public infrastructure. Here, these people are plopping down tons of money and then hitting massive pot holes on their street as they turn out the driveway (if they have one). Crazy.

Three months of crap winter for nine months of great weather. I'll take that trade-off.

Just saying that New Orleans is a much cheaper place to live.

Also, I'm requesting a name change. Because "BostonBadass" is much catchier than "AbitaFan08". So thank you for that.

Have you factored in income levels, because I'd imagine Boston would be higher.

No, but I'm also not factoring in education level either, so let's just call that a wash.

Summer tended to last more than 3 months in the 25 years I was in Louisiana.

But I'm not trying to debate the merits of weather. I was simply stating a fact, which is that Boston is much more expensive when it comes to real estate, and I would gladly pay New Orleans prices. No need for anyone's feathers to get ruffled.

So where do you live? I haven't seen you mention it in this thread.
