Three men and a woman are accused in a series of Houma armed robberies in which the victims were lured to the scene by a dating website.

The victims were lured to the suspects via the dating website Plenty of Fish, the Terrebonne Parish Sheriff’s Office said. One of the suspects set up a fake dating profile using images of a 16-year-old Houma girl without her permission.

Officers say that the victims were contacted via the dating website. “Dates” were arranged in which the victims were ambushed by gunmen, deputies said.

One such robbery was reported on Sept. 14 at the Crestwood Apartment Complex, located in the 700 block of Levron Street. The victim told police that he drove to the apartment complex to meet a woman he met on the dating website.

The victim told police he saw a woman whom he believed was his date and exited his car to meet her. Two gunmen jumped out from behind a building and beat and robbed the victim, officers said. The suspects fled the scene and the victim was transported to the hospital where he was treated for head injuries.

A second incident occurred Saturday (Sept.19) behind High Tide bar in Houma. The victim told police that he arranged to meet a woman at the bar who he met on the dating website. The victim arrived at the scene and saw a woman who flagged him down, deputies said. As the woman opened the victim’s passenger door, officers said two men beat the victim with a gun and robbed him. The suspects fled the scene

Williams was charged with two counts of armed robbery with a firearm, online impersonation and possession of marijuana.

Jasmine Dupont, 17, was the woman who lured the victim in Saturday’s robbery, deputies said. She was charged with one count of armed robbery with a firearm.

Aaron Kenny, 20, and Gregory Holloway, 21, were also arrested. Both were charged with two counts of armed robbery with a firearm.

Officers said the fraudulent Plenty of Fish account has been deleted. The case is still under investigation.
