“It’s ok, this could’ve been prevented had we worn a mask and not gone to Mardi Gras but we didn’t and paw died. People die all the time though. Can’t wait to chase this chicken.”

I really miss those days, pre-covid, when there was zero risk and no one ever died.

And now there is a thing called covid and people die from it

Maybe they should avoid the ghettos altogether. From Bayou Gardens, don't turn on W. Park.
Cross the bayou, go down MLK, turn right on St Charles, end the parade at the Vahli intersection.
That's raaacist!
And also the residents of Summerfield and Sugar Mill Pond would much prefer that the residents of Hobson St catch the parade near Hobson St.

A virus so deadly you have to get tested to see if you have it

And wait a few days after testing to find out if you have it.

Until paw paw dies and you go around selling plate lunches to bury him

Do you save your spot by parking an old truck in the grassy area between the road and the bayou right after the 1st of the year?
People that do that really grind my gears.

People around here, especially Houma revert to selling plate lunches (usually some combo of white beans, jambalaya, and fried fish or shrimp) to raise money for whoever is dying.

Would they really be missed?
To some, yes.
Spanish Town is a gay old good time.

No our family rents a spot and we pull up 15 minutes before they close the roads and park. It's pretty nice

All grandparents, both parents no longer with us.
Gone way before “the virus”.
Didn’t have to sell plate lunches to bury any of the them.
Try again

Their reasoning was that they didn't feel like toasting so late anymore. So instead of moving the viewing stands, they reversed to route cause god forbid the rich people need to stay up til 11pm to toast it up.
Thats one reason. Another reason that thry aren't going to put out publicly is while the royalty is toasting a big part of the parade is stopped in front of That Stanley shopping center and there are yearly shootings there.
With the reverse direction, the parade doesn't have to sit there for close to an hour.
Had a shooting last year and there was a Jr high band right there where it happened.
It won't speed anything up as the turn from barrow to main is going to cause gaps because it is a difficult turn with some of the larger floats.
Also in a few of the parades the king and other entities in the parade coordinate and purposely slow the parade because they want it to last.
This will also screw up traffic more as while staging the floats on barrow and having the bands enter at town hall shopping center tunnel will have to be shut down for over an hour. Thats the normal bypass route to miss the parade route. Its gonna be a mess

Sheriff Soignet is worried that with more ppl coming in and if things break out there won't have enough cops to handle it all
Well thats not the story he is telling everyone behind closed doors.
He is very adamant about it happening, he thinks it is time get back to normal

Makes sense. Houma ghettoans are as bad as those from NOLA.
