In the beach, the best is the Hilton.

Spend the extra money and stay at Portofino. You won't be sorry.

I stay at the Hilton when working there. On the beach and a couple of "decent" places to eat within walking distance.

If you don't mind my asking, why'd you choose Pensacola over some of the other beach towns on the Panhandle (Destin, etc.)? Are you going for a specific event or is it just a vacation?

I personally think Pensacola is shitty, the beaches are much better farther west. The same can be said for the restaurants, bars, etc.

I agree. I even like Orange Beach better than Pensacola beach.
The only way I may go back to Pensacola is to stay on the beach during one of the blue angel airshows.

Its across the street.

But who the frick cares? It is the nicest resort in the area. A 50 yd walk across the street won't kill you.

Depends how long and who with - just wife or gf, guys, kids?

I like Springhill Suites - has an awesome kids pool, poolside bar and food. You can walk across the street for any of a number of food items -- pizza, gyros, fancy hot dogs, etc.

Stayed at the Hilton once about 5 years ago. Rooms were shite. Old, dank and moldy. Rest of the hotel is great.

There's a new Holiday Inn Resort on Via De Luna that a relative stayed at - it's reportedly nice.

I like Pensacola b/c everything is walking distance and it's not congested and over developed like Destin.

If Portofino was on the beach Id stay there more often, the rooms are twice the size of beach club and the balconies are 2-3 times the size of beach club. Why would you invest so much money into a property to not have it on the beach? Its also not walking distance of anything, which is a game changer.

Are you high? It's across the street. The beach is 50 ft. from the entrance and they provide a golf cart to take you the 50 ft.

Margaritaville is really nice. Their outside bar on the beach is great.

Holiday Inn or Hilton are the nicest.

Paradise is a local favorite - on the bay with a bad arse bar.
