Why is he free? Are the Chicago police so retarded they can' find charges to hold a dangerous person?
If they thought for a second he was guilty of something nefarious, he would still be in jail
Jesus Tapdancing Christ.
"I think you're guilty of something" doesn't work to hold someone without bail.

Of course. Even if this guy has a perfectly reasonable explanation, Lightfoot clearly wants everybody to believe they prevented a tragedy, and they wanted to hold him.
Considering all the heat she's catching locally and nationally over the lawlessness, she's just using this story to flex for the media that she's being tough on gun violence, without having to address the numerous actual shootings elsewhere in the city.

He is guilty of something, Gomer. Just not what you fairies think he's guilty of. He has pending charges.
You really think the cops would let him walk if they thought he planned a mass murder?

It doesn't matter, the FBI would still allow him to pass a background check and legally purchases guns.
That's what they do, intentionally or not.

I can't believe people in this thread are arguing that this isn't just a little suspicious.

He has pending charges.
You think this mechanic shouldn’t be allowed to return to work or his family until he reaches a trial date?

The only reason people think it's suspicious is the media is framing it that way. These people cannot think for themselves.
This is how CBS in CHicago framed the issue.
"Hotel Worker ‘Averted Disaster’ Finding Loaded Rifle And Scope In Guest’s Room Overlooking Ohio Street Beach; Keegan Casteel Faces Weapons Charges" Based on everything WE know, the Hotel Maid might have moved guns with as high confidence as his guy is a mass murderer.
Dumb people read shitty headline and make up their mind.

You're retarded.
All I said is if the cops felt he was a mass murderer, he would not be free on felony charges right now.

Chicago is a damn war zone. Hard to blame a guy for being prepared for anything. Seriously though...false flag.

. Given the facts shared in the article,
How do you know the maid didn't move the guns to be a "hero?"

Because its' absolutely correct. If they had anything on this guy, he would not walk.
You do realize he was charged with two felonies, correct?

Awfully convenient given the record-breaking July 4th weekend they just had in regards to murders and wounded. 22 and 90.
All this guy would have to say is that he was driving across country with his guns, stopped in Chicago for the night, and didn't want to leave said guns in the vehicle in one of the most dangerous cities in the country. Same goes for why he would have them loaded in the room.
Could he have been up to no good? Sure. Is "I think you may have possibly have been going to co something illegal" a reason to hold him without bail? No.
