They have machines and plenty of free weights. I'm sure you're not pushing more that a couple hundred pounds so I'm 99% certain you will be okay with PF.

Go to the PF website, choose a location and do the virtual tour.

They do free pizza during the week and doughnuts on the weekends

Common misconception. It's bagels, not donuts. Free pizza in the evenings once a month and free bagels in the morning once a month. It's funny as hell when I see trashy people take a whole pizza with them on their way out the door. It's always democrats.

Whenever I travel to that cesspool that is Austin for work, I always use Hyde Park gym. Although it is air conditioned, it's about as old school as you can get.

A good number of squat racks and platforms (they're in the other room from this pic), and iron everywhere. And better than free pizza, they'll have free beer during push/pull contests. ETA: and I love that their benches have essentially minimal padding on them; you don't sink into them when benching, etc.

Cheap place to work out if you’re just trying to stay fit.

If you’re really trying to be an intense BB or weightrainer, you’ll need a place with more free weights and heavier dumbbells.

The one in Denham literally had Mary Lee's deliver 20+ dozen doughnuts on Saturdays.

And yeah the dingleberries taking a whole box of pizza .. like come on man

Ah well I stand corrected. The ones in BR always had bagels. I think it was pizza on the first Monday of the month and bagels on the second Tuesday of the month. Lol at the trashy fatties taking a whole box of donuts.

You can accomplish almost anything you want to at Planet Fitness as far as personal fitness goals unless you are a competitive powerlifter. The problem most people have in the US is exercising at all.

It’s ok but I hate the purple color everywhere and it’s hokie with the gay slogans. I feel like a jabroni the few times I’ve tried that place

It's not too bad for a decent and cheap workout. Negatives>Dumbells only go up to 75lbs. You will still see young black people and old white people still wearing masks. Not everyone wants to be reminded of the covid years!

They haven’t started changing out equipment yet. I haven’t noticed some of the usual morning eye candy tho

I think the next few months is going to be nice because the hardcore guys already left and most of the PF types won’t be used to the different machines so it should me slow.

It's perfectly fine for what it is, it's cheap and simple. I just joined a Crunch that opened by my house and it's fine too.

Yep.

There are different levels and different goals for everyone.

I rather them show up to that place. Most of the over weight basic beer drinkers hey dude wearing on cloud douches here have the cardio of a 75yr old woman.

Any effort is better than none.

PF is for dudes that wear yoga pants to hide those legs that make it look like their riding around on the back of a chicken.

The PF nearest to me got rid of 90% of their free weights in exchange for machine weights. Tootsie Roll bowls on the counter. I'm not even a big lifter and I felt like they didn't want "my type" there. Felt more like a women's gym. I don't know why anyone would sign up there when Crunch Fitness is a thing.

For older people who are maintaining cardio and existing muscle mass, it’s a good deal.
Most of the people that go there are doing just this, and being around people is sociologically comforting.

I’ve been to a few locations and none of the are really ever crowded for the space and equipment.

The monthly dues are ACH. IMO, they count on the cheap monthly to draw hundreds to join that never show up and are too undisciplined financially to take 30 minutes to cancel the membership, They don’t even notice that $20/mos automatically getting withdrawn every month. The decor, slogans, and equipment inventory is not enticing to bodybuilders who go to a real gym regularly

I hear these places print money.
