I'm looking at Subaru and Buick. Go.

Buick is consistently rated among the top 3-4 in Consumer Reports in reliability. My parents drove a LaCrosse for years and it was a fantastic vehicle. It rides like a bank vault on wheels, and is very quiet.

We have an Outback and it's a fantastic vehicle, but IMO Subaru also needs to quiet the interior of their cars a bit.

My brother is an ASE certified master tech too. He used to work for Mercedes in Chicago.

I've heard many good things about Subaru and frankly haven't had the opportunity to work on very many of them.
Maybe that should tell you something about them.

I've owned 5 Toyotas and they all are terrible with road noise.

Drive a comparable Honda and you'll feel like you are riding inside of a drum. It's a big complaint I have with ours.

I love working an damn near any Japanese vehicle. I just work on far less Toyotas than most of the big 3 Toyota,Nissan and Honda.

I have had 4 Hondas over the years and they all went over 200,000. Sold them all so I don't know when they crapped out. Solid used car usually but one never knows.

I'd like to know which models and years you are working on. Because of all the people I know who have bought Hondas the last 10 years haven't had the issues you are mentioning.

I still call BS on your ideas on Honda. You sound like a guy who only drives Chevrolet and Fords.

I realize they're popular in the north.
I really just haven't worked on very many of them. They're a vehicle so I know things will break on them like any other car.

We have a 2013 model. The problem is road noise and the abhorrent paint/finish quality. The engine, ride, handling, and fuel efficiency are top notch.

i had the paint/finish issue with a camry, but no issue with 2013 accord. good price on the 2012 probably due to the significant 2013 model year change. sounds like a good deal to me.

does it matter what i drive?

I'm not here trying to pimp my vehicle that I personally own.

I specifically said motor mounts collapsing. Mainly the fluid filled design.

I'm not ASE etc certified but you mentioned collapsing/breaking/snapping. What like brackets near the Transmission itself?

Where the hell do your customers drive?

Honda power steering issues/pump failures are very prevalent. Honda uses their very own special fluid that loses its viscosity well before 100,000 miles and if not completely flushed out will cause premature pump failures.

I am seeing that now with my Honda Pilot. Then again, it is 12 years old with 185,000 miles on it and no other problems; so I guess I am ok with "premature" pump failure.

Don't know where to start here but kudos to Honda for making a great product that took you longer to ruin than you would expect
