Mechanical reliability means more than how it looks to me.
As far as mid sized cars go, none of them are really unreliable. We have a Honda, but because of the road noise and paint/finish quality, we'll probably buy a Toyota or Chevy or Ford next time. Maybe even step up to a Lexus or Audi.

I've owned both accords and camrys
I'd drive away in an Accord today whereas I'll never buy a Camry again

Honda isn't on par with Toyota.
They all have serious power steering pump/fluid issues, they all have motor mount collapsing issues. A bunch of them are having camshaft vvt issues.
This is just what i've been seeing as a mechanic.
Toyota has no known issues that span the years or models that i can honestly put a finger on.

Much better car, hold value more and better gas mileage.
You would be wrong on holding value except this person is selling below cost so you'd be ok in long run. You also don't but a 10K car expecting a return.

I'm looking at Subaru and Buick. Go.

I love my Honda CRV. When it's time to get a new vehicle, I will just get another Honda CRV.

Motor mount brackets are snapping and power steering fluids issues are prevalent, I call bs on this. I worked at a Honda dealership for a few years a couple of years ago and that's bull. I also owned an Accord throughout my time at LSU and had no problems.
The CVT transmissions in Honda 4 cylinders are second to none.

I rent a lot of Camrys. They are quieter than my Accord, but they handle much worse.

You clearly didn't see our last Camry. The Accord, Silverado, and Outback have all been much better and much cheaper to own.
The only reason I would avoid getting another Honda is road noise and paint/finish quality. They've gotten everything else right with the car we have - especially with the engine, ride/handling, visibility, and ergonomics.

Does the accord have the 4 or 6 cylinder?

I've owned 5 Toyotas and they all are terrible with road noise.

Motor mount brackets are snapping
I specifically said motor mounts collapsing.
Mainly the fluid filled design.
Honda power steering issues/pump failures are very prevalent.
Honda uses their very own special fluid that loses its viscosity well before 100,000 miles and if not completely flushed out will cause premature pump failures.

So this guy "worked at a Honda dealership"
