I was listening to Michael Ian Black interviewed on Howard Stern this am. his mom divorced his dad, came out as gay and moved in with another woman. He said the relationship was so toxic between them with verbal and physical abuse he couldn't stand living with them. Just interesting that i heard that this morning then saw your thread saying the 43.8 % of lesbian relationships have domestic violence.

Probably because in most lesbian relationships, only one is really gay. She's the butch insecure one. The other is usually pretty insecure too, to the point where they convince themselves a woman will treat them better than a man. Then after the gay honeymoon wears off, they enjoy any attention a man gives them, causing the butch one to get physical.

There probably is a gender effect on reporting, internal sense of what you are allowed to do, and inclination to believe you are a possible victim. Respectively I'd argue women are more likely to report, more likely to feel entitled to slap a partner who offends them, and more likely to believe that they could be a victim.
