I have flood insurance, and my house had 7ft of water in. I'd say we were/are displaced.
Will my homeowners offer any kind of "displacement assistance?"
FEMA will give you $842 for "rental assistance" if you sign up at that disasterassistance.gov site.

Yup, all ready got it.
My brother just sold his 5th wheel, so I'm gotta go to West Texas to get my FIL, so I can rent it from him.

You are correct, but I don't think there were any mandatory evacs for this event. If there were that payment would be good for only a couple of days when the mandatory evac was in effect.
Yes, I don't think a mandatory evac was called anywhere here , but I'm not sure with some of the high river areas. And yeah if it was it would be short lived.
Compare that to areas like St Bernard and NOLA lower 9 which in some cases the mandatory evac lasted weeks.

I think 2 weeks was paid after Katrina. I want to say, $2-$2500 was a standard payment depending on the number of people in the house

Some of the private insurers who were offering flood renewals in preferred flood zones, one of the pluses on their policy was including loss of use on flood policy.

Man it would sure suck if all that flooding ruined your electrical system and something shorted out and caught fire. That would really suck.

Arson and insurance fraud are serious crimes. Is money worth prison time? Fire investigators will discover the arson and policy will not pay.
