Is homeowners (State Farm specifically) providing any assistance, such as displacement assistance or anything like that that ya'll are aware of?
Checking in for an elderly relative.

TIA

You should call State Farm and ask. Then report back here.

Profit??

Mine got shot down, not by SF but I have pictures of Full bathtubs and toilets with the water below them and they said tough shite it was caused by a flood.

Yeah I heard people thought they'd be okay going this route but I was highly skeptical.

I called my Agent and bought flood insurance last week. Took me like 20 minutes, and I was done.

Typically homeowners covers sewage backup from an onsite drain line clog. Not from offsite sewage backup...

Sewage backup coverage is a specific rider you must have before they will pay for that damage, and the max amt they will pay is $10k

Man it would sure suck if all that flooding ruined your electrical system and something shorted out and caught fire. That would really suck.

Short of that I don't see how your homeowners will cover anything. At least in a hurricane situation, you can attempt to argue hey my roof blew apart before the flood started. You can't even do that here.

So what's the deal?

I have flood insurance, and my house had 7ft of water in. I'd say we were/are displaced.

Will my homeowners offer any kind of "displacement assistance?"

Unfortunately not, you do not have a covered loss under the homeowner's policy.

Flood is not a covered peril in a homeowners policy. Your displacement was caused by flood. No coverage. I am glad you had flood ins. Many are not in your shoes and have a difficult situation to deal with. Good luck.

Some people got displacement assistance for Katrina under homeowners, but that was because they either suffered non-flood damage, and/or were subject to a mandatory evacuation.

Seems like a stretch. You hear all these stories about other people getting paid for stuff like that but when it comes to you making a claim they NEVER pay.

You are correct, but I don't think there were any mandatory evacs for this event. If there were that payment would be good for only a couple of days when the mandatory evac was in effect.

A hurricane is a covered peril. Flood is not. I understand people are in a bind, but this was all flood related.
