Does Walgreens or CVS in Louisiana offer the drivethru testing? Or is it hard to find an appointment?

Don't be disappointed. It will be okey after a certain time. Don't hesitate to drink hot water.

Four *Free Covid Tests

Heard about this on the radio. Starting on the 19th, you can order *free at home tests. The idea being that you keep tests at the ready.

*free = taxpayer funded

Probably only if I had someone in my family/friends family that’s at risk. Which is exactly my point. There’s at risk people everywhere, and covid isn’t going away, so if people actually cared about “not spreading the disease to the elderly”, shouldn’t they get tested regularly?

I’m not really passing judgement - it’s still a free country. Merely curious of the logic

They’re scarce here in Georgia too. These things should be sold in bulk, that a way people self test right away, instead of waiting a couple days to the clinic and spreading it.

What about the asymptomatic folks? Should we just test every 3 days? Vaccine status doesn't matter apparently since it's like a flu vaccine and not like a polio vaccine. This whole thing is getting ridiculous.

I took one yesterday after showing some symptoms. I’m glad I was able to because it was positive, and I can isolate from my pregnant wife and tell my 70+ folks that were coming on Monday to stay away.

PS we couldn’t find any BR area, had to borrow one from a friend.

Only place I’ve seen them are CVS and WalMart. Not sure Walgreens even Carries them in preference for having you do a drive thru test with them. At CVS they’re behind the main check out counter in the front if they have them. I’ve found that if you check multiple CVS’s same day eventually you’ll find one.

I am going to test when I think I have covid and there is a very serious uptick in the numbers to avoid giving it to elderly and still be able to go about my life if I do not have it. Yes. You have an all or nothing mentality here. Just because I am saying it is not unreasonable to go get tested right now in the middle of a massive uptick does not mean I will do it “for the rest of my life”. Come on, man. You need to get a grip. You are letting this thing get to you way to much

will u get tested every time you are about to be near elderly people? Serious question

asymptomatic people have Covid too

Serious answer: When I needed one a couple of months ago, I used the Walgreens app and found a few available at the DS location. YMMV, obviously. But, if they're in stock, they should let you order it online and go by for a pickup.

Unrelated, I needed one test for a kid when I was looking, but there were 2 in the pack. I ended up using the second test this week and finding out I have the Chyna Flu myself. Not a huge deal--feels just like a continuation of the flu symptoms I was dealing with a week ago. Anyway, I just happened to notice that the Covid test was almost expired already--had like 2 weeks left. So, they apparently expire pretty quickly.

Absolutely for flu. I had 102 fever and really anything that had me feeling like that I would isolate until feeling better.

Cold/cough probably not.

Well for one, it saves a ton of time, and possibly money. So there’s an answer for you. Is that valid enough for you, or is there something greater that is worth more than my time and my money?

Only difference is I feel like omicron is way more contagious compared with a flu virus, so knowing the difference would affect how long I try to stay away from family.

If the information about your illness can be determined, I’d rather know that not.
