They named streets in the predominantly A-A area for Confederate generals. It was done to insult that portion of the community and to tell them Whites rule.
Well, that's not true at all. There were zero black people in Hollywood when those streets were named.

If anything, the US invaded a sovereign nation and forcibly annexed their property and people. Did you approve of that when Germany invaded Poland?

For one, let's say the titular Forrest Street that runs through town. It is named as such because that is the route that Nathan Bedford Forrest took while going through the town, down from Tennessee. There is absolutely no good reason to change that.
Our section of Highway 72 is also named Robert E. Lee Highway. I have a great amount of respect and admiration for Lee, as most people with good sense do, even Yankees. What good would come of renaming it something else, when it has been that way for so long? Only the non-existent progressives in town would be happy, and it would greatly upset nearly everyone else.
I believe we have a Lee, Stuart, and Jackson street, as well.

It's impressive how terrible of a poster you are across such a wide array of topics across the boards on this site. Bravo.

I like how you try and come across with some inherent superiority like it's an aha. A small problem with that is the fact that you are neglecting to take into consideration the Constitutional conventions and Constitutional Secession by these states from the Union prior to making their own. It was legally and constitutionally a separate country. Just because they were once citizens of a country doesn't mean they are beholden to the constitution of that country after they have left. To the victors go the spoils and history has been whitewashed to highlight the protagonist and antagonist of the American Civil War. The was was started however because one country refused requests and broke treaties with another country in regards to the removal of troops and artillery from the latter country.

How is that hard to understand?
You believe the whitewashed CSA bad USA good. I'm sure if Lee and Lincoln were in a room and I said point at the most racist sumabitch in here you'd point at Lee too, huh?
