It was sold for 12 cents so it has to be late fifties to early sixties.

I think comics were a nickle or a dime so that would be right. remembering an old B&W tv show based (Hollywood loosely) on the Rats of Tobruk. May have used a light recon tank and the Honey probably would have fit that bill.

In the 70's, and the oil shocks, I remember wondering why older folks worried so about money. The past 2 years has me seeing it from the other side. 12 cent comic is possibly 5 to 10 bucks now. Easy on a kid making 15 bucks and hour but heart palpitating if you made 50 cents or 1.00 an hour in your peak years.

Hope you are having a good day and get to see some good games this weekend.

FWIW: As to OP, so many awesome styles but I would kick it REALLY old school

Without baws like this in the early days of what becomes the USA, would not have any of the other uniforms to choose from.

Only 3 folks went through any of the Unites States Service Academies without a single demerit. If memory serves that fellow in the pic was one. In the next 10 years maybe, the 2nd one (West Point as well). The 3rd was POTUS Jimmy Carter (Naval Academy). Unsure if a 4th has happened in the past 10 - 20 years but guessing the answer is no.

That is a mighty short list!

Eh,there were 6 people in Lee's class alone to not receive any demerits. He graduated 2nd in his class.

Humm, always heard it was rare.

Wonder if there is a source for all the schools?

Oh, it's still very rare when taken in context with class size. Could be a number of factors that go into something g like that. REL's class may have just been truly exceptional. I did read something that said that handing out demerits has been relaxed a lot since the late 1800s-early 1900s. So it's possible it has happened more recently.

Off-topic on an OT thread, but my prime comic-book days were 1966-68ish, and they were 12 cents then. Had a few issues of Our Army At War / Sgt Rock and G.I. Combat (with the J.E.B. Stuart Haunted Tank.) Oh, and the uniforms were drawn pretty cool (we now bring you back to your regularly-scheduled topic.)
