This beautiful place could be yours! One of the few remaining downtown mansions, the Logan Mansion, an 1897-built Victorian beauty, is located across from the Ogilvie-Wiener Mansion and one block over from the famed Municipal Auditorium. The Logan Mansion also sits in the heart of the Downtown Development

District and the art and culture district known as Shreveport Common. At 4965 SF, with four bedrooms and two full and 2 half baths, it is listed at $375,000.

The home is remarkable, and offers a grand foyer, pocket doors, 12' ceilings, library, parlor, formal dining, den, walk up attic, basement and upstairs Romeo and Juliet Balcony. This home is owner occupied with many updates. The latest is a re-roof and significant work to the HVAC system.

It is located in the D-1-AC (Arts and Culture) sub-district in the city’s Unified Development Code, and as such, could be used as a restaurant, single-family residential, or for other commercial uses, such as a boutique, art gallery or bed and breakfast.

Realtor Jeri Little is handling the listing of the Logan Mansion and can be reached at 318-675-2700 (office) or 318-470-5455 (cell) for a showing or for additional information.

I'm sure you could get it down to $350,000.00

I would consider, if I lived up there....

Beautiful, but those older homes can be a money pit...electrical, water, insulation, rotted wood....definitley a handyman house.

Thanks for posting.

In the area that home is located, they need to remove a 0 from that asking price.

We have a few like that in our town. None nearly as nice as that but they could really be showplaces with a little love. As you say, they can be money pits and they all need substantial work. I'm afraid they'll be beyond saving if they don;'t find buyers soon.

There’s a big house across the street that’s been turned into a homeless shelter. There’s a soup kitchen for homeless a block away, and a halfway house is around there somewhere.

There’s a reason it’s cheap.

It’s been years since I’ve been in the house, but they used to host swanky dinner parties, Halloween festivities, and birthday/tea parties for little girls. They provided the dresses, hats, fine china, and party favors for the birthday parties.

A shame that nice homes like this all across the country end up being in bad sections of cities and will typically fall into disarray.
Don't think this happens as often in European cities.
