So I bought my son one of those battery propelled cars you can drive in (age 5), and when we moved last year I lost the charger for it. I found another charger that fit the "coupling" into the car, but it didnt seem to charge it.
Here is the section in the manual:

Question is, will this charger work? :

I'd be shocked if it didn't.

Depends on the cars arrangement. Need to know if the center of the unit is positive or negative.

Nevermind just noticed you’re an ole miss fan. Get a battery charger from Autozone.

I'll sell you a battery powered Viper complete with cable. 1-speed auto. Push-button start. Missing fuel cap. Ain't nothing wrong with the radio.

Your Amazon charger is 12 volts and your battery is 6 volts.

This is likely your problem, it should charge fine with the adapter set to 9 volts, but a lot of these things have the center pin wired for the negative. You need a adapter with reversal polarity of the connector.

It wants 1 Amp (1000 milliAmps) at 8 Volts.

You picked an universal charger that can switch to everything other than 8 Volts.

That took some skill

More and more convinced the OP is Hugh Freeze.

Guess he also threw out the charger for the flying Barbie Archie couldn't save?

7.5V may not be enough, and 9V may be too much.

Highly unlikely, but possible.

Those numbers are common. They're multiples of the standard alkaline 1.5V plus 5V for USB stuff.

8 Volts is an odd number.
