Cops should just start shooting anyone that flees. It really would solve a ton of problems over time.

In either case, the root cause is the criminal feeling there's a better option to flee. In this case, they have now made the arrest, and we will see what deterrent is in place to stop this from happening in the future.
Allowing no repercussions from fleeing is a dangerous precedent.

quote:Incorrect. People run, then the cops choose to chase.
I thought you were talking about people running from cops, the only reason there is a chase..

Bitch about crime rates.

Allowing no repercussions from fleeing is a dangerous precedent.
There are too many ways to do it better with technology.

It amazes me you think it’s ok for an innocent person to lose their life over a traffic infraction. That’s pretty damn senseless to me. The offender and the cop should be held liable for their deaths & the shite needs to stop.
I must’ve missed the part when I said it was OK for someone to be injured or lose their life as a result of police doing their job.
At the point the criminal flees, it’s no longer “just a traffic infraction” and there’s a pretty high probability that there is some other criminal activity going on, which is why the person is running. It doesn’t take a genius to realize that.
Police work is ugly and unfortunately it doesn’t always have this rainbows and unicorns outcome.

I can't see how an announcement stating "Police are no longer allowed to pursue you if you don't stop" couldn't possibly cause any issues.

My issue is cops knowing when to draw the line
They draw a line, and it is blue. They believe they can break the law at will, and they can. There are little to no repercussions for what they do. Most cops are garbage humans. The majority that I went to high school with that are cops now were bullies back then, and they still are now.

So you were a pussy in high school, some dude bullied you, thus all cops are bad. Got it.
Grow up you fricking loser. There are bad cops and good Cops as with every profession and walk of life. Your inability to get beyond your high school experiences is more indicative of why you were bullied than the disposition of those who bullied you. Then or now.

And when he took off he was seen throwing stuff out the window. Then hits the interstate, on a Friday, so they likely thought they had him at that point. Surprised he made it all the way to WBR.
