He'll be fine.

I lived here for a semester in college and have lived/worked here for the last couple of years. I've yet to be the victim of a crime or terrorist attack. High School visits in the spring are a part of the landscape here.

The waterfront at Anacostia is not to be missed. Do it!

Let him go
just tell him never to go or do anything alone.

safety in numbers
also log into his iphone so you can randomly check were he is.

just tell him to check in with you... no biggie
surely you've raised a big boy now?

You can't live your life scared. Well, I guess you can, but that's a shitty way to exist.

She's a mom. Be cool.

But yeah I think she's definitely in helo mode if she's afraid to send her kid to DC.

They wont be allowed to check in with their phones. The teacher said she normally doesn't allow students to bring their phones on the days they march.

He definitely will get laid. Make sure you give him some condoms and insist he uses them.

Im not normally a helicopter mom! This is a trip for the March for Life in DC. I wouldn't even think twice about letting him go if this was just a sight seeing trip. I'm afraid some religious group might see this as prime opportunity to do something stupid with so many Christians in one area.

The whole condom thing takes on a new meaning. Teenagers will be teenagers. though.

Are you planning on stopping him from doing things like this when he is an adult? If your answer is no, you better let him go. He can't live sheltered forever.

If your answer is yes.... Poor kid.

Also... This is a dumb fear to have. I get it, but seriously, his chances of dying every time he gets in a car are more likely than his chances of dying in any other way for his entire life, and he does it every day without fear from you. Just let your kid live their life.

But your life matters, not so much these white Christian school kids.

Again if this wasn't a trip where they will be assloads of Christans then I wouldn't have a problem! My fear is that some crazy will see this as prime opportunity to hurt a lot of Christians
