Are you reading the same thread the rest of us are reading? Most of the down votes, outrage, and "sky screaming" going on in here is because the kid got suspended. If the jacket was making a big disruption, then he shouldnt be allowed at school. Chances are Im willing to bet the kid knew the policy yet wanted to stir stuff up anyways

My school to.
Our mascot was colonel reb.
Uniforms, center court basketball court, mid field football field. Flags, school sign, side of stadium, school programs, shirts, everything, even the road was named rebel drive.

Here's my two cents:
If a black student showed up at a school with a shirt that put white kids on the warpath and became a safety issue... The white kids would be told to "deal with it."
If a Hispanic student showed up with an upsetting, non-vulgar shirt that caused a safety disruption, the white kids would be told "you're shite out of luck."
There's the problem.
